A PICTURE HAS THE MAGIC TO MAKE A MOMENT ENGRAVED FOREVER

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever. It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” — Aaron Siskind

A MOMENT TO REMEMBER

It feels really good, if you can find a photo that frames you in the past at a memorable time, recorded in a shot that can remind you how precious that time is.

For me, photos are like that, always have a story behind each shot. A precious moment that may not be repeated but will be memorable and will last forever there.

Even though it’s bitter, but maybe it’s been sweet too right? Yes, photos with your ex-lover, maybe in the past were beautiful, but because you focus in moving on, it will hurt your heart if you continue to see it, but it will still be a trace of the history of your relationship that was once beautiful in its time. A memory.

There is a film that reminds me about this, how a memory means a lot in our life. Because maybe we won’t remember forever. A film from South Korea entitled “A Moment to Remember”, its has a very strong moral message, and from here I learned to respect time, togetherness and most importantly the memories themselves.

Because time cannot be turned back and we also don’t have a time machine to take us back to the past, so while there is still precious time, sometimes we need to capture it, every moment that is important and may not happen again.

In fact, when I was little, I always kept my photo in the small wallet that my father gave me. The photo that I have been always proud of a sign that it was my wallet. So, I always thought that if the wallet was lost, people could look for me through my photo.

It’s ridiculous, but since I was little, I always watched shows on TV, if someone was missing they always displayed the missing person’s photo. So for me photos are that important too, except for the ‘lost’ part I never expected my wallet to be lost LOL.

So, I never really feel annoyed, if there are my friends who often upload their photos to social media almost all the time. Although, to be honest, sometimes it feels very strange and tends to spam, I choose to be silent and all I have to do is activate the ‘mute’ feature for their social media accounts. Because maybe those photos will be good memories for them in the future.

“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” — Karl Lagerfeld

A MEMORY IS LIKE A PUZZLE. EVERY PIECE IS VITAL.

No matter how smart we are, but our memory is very limited, even though we have long-term memories, we don’t necessarily remember every detail of an event in the past that we have seen and experienced in depth.

This is where the role of a photo or if there is a video right now. These images are what will re-assemble every puzzle that we try to record in our memory into a complete and nostalgic flashback of the wonderful experiences of the past.

Often times, if I see a case or a mystery in a film with a detective theme, I would really like it if the detective starts to find every clue of traces that can be traced, one of which is a photo or CCTV that is there.

The pictures are the key to completing the missing vital piece of the puzzle. In fact, with these pictures the detective can find detailed clues that are very useful for solving the case.

Very interesting right? How important are these images if they can be used properly.

So don’t ever get the wrong perception about every photo, maybe it will help you to find something important, an oddity that might happen and a mystery that you always want to know, and all of that can be answered through that photo.

“A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word, effective.” — Irving Penn

THE SILENT WITNESS OF LIFE

Before I was born, my great grandparents had passed away. I didn’t get to know them, but I often hear stories about them.

What makes me happy is that I got to know my great-grandparents through their photos, a black and white photo but still very clear about how well they matched.

I’m happy to be able to see them even though it’s only through photos, but for me, it’s special, even though when I was born, they were gone, but their photos made me realize that this photo is a silent witness to their past life.

Which is now in my time, their memories are engraved clear in there and it makes me smile happily.

The conclusion is, the photos, sometimes will only be taken when certain moments, important moments or special moments that only happen once in a lifetime.

After I looked further, maybe I could take photos without having to have a specific goal, without waiting for the right moment.

Because who knows, at that time on that day will be the last day we live on this earth, so just in case, I don’t think it will be a problem.

Take your photo and let it be a witness to your future, which may always be remembered in the future.

“Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” — Unknown
